Responsibilities
- Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.
- Maintain Inn rooms in a sanitary condition through washing, cleaning, and replacement of equipment and furnishings.
- Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.
- Handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc.
- Dust furniture, light fixtures, windowsills, etc.
- Empty trash containers daily.
- Mop floors in bathrooms daily.
- Check all vacant rooms daily to keep fresh.
- Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken windowpanes, missing nuts or screws, beds needing repair, etc.).
- Communicate with front desk regarding any guest issue or requests.
- Check entire area for spills, water, etc.
- Must be able to fully clean at least 15 guest rooms daily to meet the expectations of management and guests.
- Use an iPad to document the completion of a cleaned room.
- Attend staff training sessions and meetings as needed.
- Complete special projects outlined by the housekeeping manager.
Physical Requirements
- The housekeeper will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and work a flexible schedule.
- Must be able to move continuously during work hours and able to lift and/or carry 25 pounds.
Skills Required
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in the housekeeping department.
- Able to safely handle and use cleaning chemicals.
- Desire and willingness to work as a team within Housekeeping and other departments.
- Personal maturity, sound judgement, motivation, and integrity.
