Responsibilities

  • Able to organize time and physical labor to clean a space within a specified timeframe.
  • Responsible for using sanitizers and cleaning solutions to specification, ensuring the proper cleaning of the space and room assigned.
  • Cleans all assigned rooms and common spaces to the property standard, accepts feedback from the auditor, and makes any corrections necessary.
  • Cleans each surface with attention to detail, making sure that each space is complete before moving on.
  • Stocks and maintains housekeeping carts and storage rooms.
  • Responds to special requests from guests to ensure the room is prepared for their arrival, including but not limited to extra towels, additional bedding, changes to furniture arrangements, and more.
  • Greets guests warmly as they pass by, interacting with them by smiling as they move throughout the hotel. Providing friendly, professional, and courteous service to guests.
  • Reports maintenance issues promptly, such as damage, light bulbs, or other concerns about each space.
  • Handles left behind items appropriately in accordance with our lost and found policy.
  • Team-oriented, works all scheduled shifts, and covers shifts as needed in support.
  • Demonstrates a safety-first attitude towards guests and their well-being, adhering to all hotel safety and security policies.
  • Cross-trains in other departments to offer support when needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • One year of experience in hospitality or a related role is preferred.
  • Flexibility in hours worked and changes to the seasonality of the position.
  • Adept in problem-solving with critical thinking skills to identify issues, analyze options, and make informed decisions.
  • Must remain calm under pressure and find creative solutions, which is crucial for effectively addressing unexpected situations.
  • Able to follow instructions and procedures given verbally or in writing (accommodation for language available).
  • Attention to detail, notices minor issues, doesn’t miss dirt or sand, and understands the specificity of that detail.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to pour out measurements and weights for chemicals.

Physical Requirements

  • Erect up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently or constantly.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs. consistently.
  • Able to carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Stand and walk for six to eight hours at a time.
  • Kneel, crawl, and bend over at the waist and reach the floor.
  • Reach overhead and maneuver arms above head, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
