Housekeeping Attendant

Under direct supervision, maintains prescribed standards of cleanliness for assigned areas using approved cleaning solutions and procedures by following posted work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Upholds organizational policies and procedures, principles of responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
• Maintains floors and other surfaces by operating electric washing, stripping, waxing, polishing, and vacuuming equipment, adjusting techniques to achieve optimal results.
• Performs general cleaning duties in assigned areas (offices, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, examination rooms, patient rooms, and special procedure rooms) by dusting, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and vacuuming using approved procedures and equipment.
• Inspects assigned areas to ensure compliance with department standards, assures security, and reports deficiencies.
• Replenishes dispensers for soap, hand towels, toilet tissue, and toilet seat covers in assigned areas.
• Properly disposes of refuse (paper, patient foamites, needles, syringes, IV tubing, glass, pressurized cans, isolated trash) by depositing in appropriate receptacles using specified procedures.
• Transports and disposes of soiled linen in designated areas using approved methods.
• Cleans and maintains receptacles, replacing liners with the correct size, type, and color as needed.
• Moves equipment and furniture; removes and hangs drapes and cubicle curtains.
• Cleans equipment such as wheelchairs, gurneys, and hamper holders according to established procedures.
• May perform additional routine duties, including moving and delivering materials, sanitizing patient beds and units, and making beds with fresh linen.
• Participates in staff development within the department and completes required courses.
• Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations with personnel, health plan members, and the public.
• Performs other related duties as required or directed.

Requirements

• Possess good physical stamina and ability to endure long periods on feet.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting.
• Ability to read and follow basic work instructions.

Schedule

• Variable shifts, including rotating weekends, holidays, and floating within the established seniority section.
• On-call/on-call basis.
• Scheduled weekly hours: 20.

Pay

$25.56 - $28.20 per hour. Kaiser Permanente offers a market-competitive total rewards package, with pay equity and transparency. The final base pay is determined based on labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate’s relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.

Travel

Yes, 25% of the time.
