About the Role

The Housekeeper I performs a variety of general cleaning tasks in assigned areas within the hospital and associated buildings under the responsibility of the Housekeeping Department. This role adheres to Infection Control guidelines and follows various regulatory agency standards. Employees may be assigned to clean specific areas permanently, handle patient transfers, linen, laundry, or other related duties, including off-site functions. The position involves operating housekeeping equipment and working either individually or as part of a team as directed by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning activities in assigned areas according to department policies and procedures.
• Clean per established infection control policies and procedures.
• Willingly accept and complete general assignments as directed.
• Attend required safety education programs to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist in maintaining high patient satisfaction cleanliness standards.
• Support the Housekeeping Department in achieving its goals and objectives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and write English required.
• Probationary period to become proficient in all aspects of the position.
