The Housekeeper I performs a variety of general cleaning tasks in assigned areas within the hospital and any other associated building that is the responsibility of the Housekeeping Department. Cleans per Infection Control guidelines and follows various regulatory agency guidelines. May be assigned permanently to clean specific areas or duties such as patient transfer, linen, laundry, or other related tasks. May also be assigned duties related to off-site functions. Operates housekeeping equipment as assigned and works either individually or as part of a team as directed by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas per department policies and procedures.
• Follow established infection control policies and procedures.
• Willingly accept assignments as directed.
• Attend required safety education programs.
• Assist in maintaining high patient satisfaction cleanliness standards.
• Support the Housekeeping Department in achieving goals and objectives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and write English required.
• Probationary period to become proficient in all aspects of the position.

No licensure required.
