Housekeeping Assistant - Part-time Days

About the role

Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients, residents, visitors, and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Empty waste baskets
• Sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
• Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment
• Maintain clean and sterile environments for patients, residents, and facility staff
• Clean patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas
• Wear proper protective equipment following appropriate guidelines
• Keep storage areas, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
• Use pagers and other technology responsibly
• Assist in laundry areas as needed
• Perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials
• Lift and/or move up to 40-50 lbs and push/pull variable weight limits on flat surfaces or ramps
• Remain on feet for the majority of the shift

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred
• Ability to use a computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals is helpful
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred

Pay

Salary range: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

• Weekly hours: 13
• Shift: Day
• Work hours may vary depending on patient/resident needs, including overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays
