About the Role

The Housekeeping Aide plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and guests. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that all areas are hygienic and well-organized. The Housekeeping Aide will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation, which directly impacts the comfort and satisfaction of those we serve. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality are essential, as the aide will be expected to follow established protocols and procedures. Provides exceptional customer service to all visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans patients’ rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting area, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure, and accordingly to manufacturers recommendations.
  • Uses and maintains equipment properly.
  • Promote service excellence by demonstrating polite, cooperative and respectful behavior to both internal and external customers.
  • Affords assistance to visitors with directions whenever requested.
  • Supports other members of the team, specifically as a Laundry Aide when needed.
  • Introduces self to patients, families and visitors.
  • Observes safety precautions and uses proper safety signage.
  • Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
  • Transports trash and infectious waste to appropriate disposal area.
  • Replenishes supplies.
  • Follows all infection control practices including handwashing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.
  • Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties.
  • Safeguard security and confidentiality of data/information according to HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
