Responsibilities
- Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures, removing water marks as needed
- Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways
- Clean floors, including sweeping, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting according to proper safety precautions
- Clean carpets, including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting
- Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing
- Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions
- Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc. in resident rooms and common areas as instructed
- Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators
Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, and cleaning methods
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, move equipment, supplies, etc. in excess of fifty (50) pounds throughout the work day
- Must be physically and mentally capable of performing routine, repetitive job duties
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies personnel
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc. and maintain the appearance of housekeeping areas
- Must perform regular inspections of resident rooms for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties
- Must be personable with residents, families, and staff in a professional and cooperative manner
- Must have compassion, tolerance, and understanding for the elderly
Pay
$22.15 hourly
