Housekeeping Aide

About the role

Fairview is looking for a Housekeeping Aide at the Fairview Community Health and Wellness Hub in St. Paul. This position is Casual and picks up shifts as needed. The Housekeeping Aide will provide patients, visitors and staff with a clean and safe environment.

Shift Times Available

• 7:00am - 3:30pm
• 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of, and follows, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards
• Actively participates in crafting and implementing improvements to achieve positive clinical and efficient outcomes
• Cleans all occupied rooms daily to create a sanitary and clean environment
• Prepares discharge units and/or surgical procedure and completes end of day cleaning in surgical procedures rooms to provide a clean sanitary environment to the patients
• Maintains and clean and attractive areas including: maintaining of hard surface and carpeted flooring, cleans offices and public areas, collects and disposes of refuse
• Cleans up after emergency spills and breakages to prevent exposure to substances that could be safety hazards
• Maintains and performs special work assignments and reports to supervisor upon completion to follow quality and frequency standards in department policy and procedure manual
• Understands the security requirements of medications and IV solutions
• Restocks paper supplies upon daily cleaning of area to ensure they are adequately filled and maintains linen distribution system to provide user areas with adequate amounts of linen to give patient care
• Mixes, uses supplies and maintains equipment to aid in cost containment and safety

Qualifications

Must be at least 16 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required
• Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of safety and sanitation practices
