Housekeeping Aide

About the role
Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the flexibility to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing demands, and manage multiple responsibilities. Maintain government-issued items and property, and provide detailed purchase requests for consumables within the department.
Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment by adhering to established safety protocols.
- Perform billet room duties: change linens, make beds, launder dirty linens/towels/shower curtains, clean toilets, sinks, and shower stalls, sweep and mop floors, dust (including under/around furniture), wipe/polish furniture, dust TVs, clean mirrors, and prepare rooms for check-in.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) regulations, Quality Assurance standards, and organizational objectives.
- Follow site-specific policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Execute assigned tasks with precision under the direction of the Mission Support Hospitality Supervisor.
- Provide daily verbal or written updates on tasks completed.
- Collaborate with housekeeping peers and leadership to support continuous process improvements.
- Complete work orders via the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for assigned service areas.
- Maintain custodial supply inventories across multiple facilities, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Communicate with Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Supervisors to identify facility issues and initiate corrective work orders.
- Deliver, set up, and break down decorations for events, meetings, and after-hours banquets as required.
- Perform daily cleaning of common areas: sweeping, mopping, trash collection/disposal, kitchenette/appliance wipe-downs, laundering towels, cleaning door panels/ledges, and removing cobwebs.
- Conduct deep cleaning tasks quarterly, semi-annually, or annually: clean windows (inside/out), carpets, strip/wax floors, dust/wipe furniture, picture frames, baseboards, and appliances (inside/out).
- Perform custodial duties in office buildings, recreational buildings, and common areas: clean toilets, sinks, shower stalls, sweep/mop floors, dust, and polish furniture.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of custodial experience.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including online training platforms, timekeeping systems, and email.
- Valid driver’s license issued by the applicant’s state of residence.
Skills
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Capable of standing for 8–10 hours per shift and performing physical tasks (bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, twisting, carrying).
- Fitness for duty in extreme hot/humid or cold outdoor environments.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to high performance standards.
- Works effectively independently and collaboratively.
- Skilled in identifying issues, gathering/evaluating information, and drawing sound conclusions.
Schedule
Typical support duties are Monday–Friday, 07:00 to 16:00, with occasional weekends and holidays as required.
Pay
$24.00–$26.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
