About the role
Under the supervision of the Housekeeping Manager and the Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor, the Housekeeping Attendant - Public Area ensures the highest level of overall housekeeping services throughout the public areas in the Hotel in accordance with company policies and procedures. Creates memorable experiences by maintaining consistent high standards of service to guests and employees, and is responsible for the proper utilization of cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.
Responsibilities
- Keeps the Lobby and all Public Facilities (such as lobby restrooms, restaurant floor, the front desk, back of the house hallways and restrooms, the Front Desk and offices, etc.) in a neat and clean condition.
- Promotes a positive image of the property to guests and addresses guest requests and problems in a professional, guest-focused, and timely manner.
- Completes all guest requests promptly, efficiently, and professionally, including delivering items like pack and plays, microwaves, and refrigerators to guest rooms.
- Cleans all assigned areas in accordance with established standards of cleanliness and SOPs, including floors, carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, walls, ceilings, mirrors, and windows.
- Maintains all public areas, removes trash, and ensures hotel surroundings are free from debris.
- Performs floor/carpet/doormat care, including spotting, shampooing, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing.
- Assists with the washing, drying, and folding of linens according to company quality standards, including sorting items by color, weight, and fabric type.
- Maintains and stocks housekeeping carts, caddies, laundry rooms, and linen/terry store rooms.
- Follows all LEGOLAND Florida Resort policies, procedures, OSHA standards, safety and sanitation policies, and key control procedures.
- Adheres to standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms, and appearance, and answers communication devices promptly.
- Signs in and out for a Radio and Master Key for interdepartmental communication and guest room access.
- Attends all scheduled mandatory Housekeeping Department meetings, trainings, and hotel meetings.
- Supports work efforts of other Housekeeping employees as directed and reports repair/maintenance needs to leadership.
- Makes recommendations to supervisors regarding improved methods and procedures to enhance guest and associate satisfaction.
- Participates in the promotion of safety and security in assigned work areas, ensuring proper signage is in place when required.
- Assists with general cleaning and rehabilitation projects as directed.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of hotel experience in housekeeping operations.
- Strong guest service skills and a professional attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and exhibit patience and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- High school graduate or General Education Degree (or equivalent education and experience) preferred.
- Previous experience as a Public Area Attendant and training in environmental control, floor care, and laundry equipment operations highly desirable.
Physical Demands
- Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the Resort and interact with employees and guests.
- Finger dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to complete paperwork activities.
- Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone or radio.
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and/or ramps.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.
Work Environment
- Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
- Variable noise levels and exposure to fumes, odors, dust, mite hazards, chemicals, and bio-hazards.
- Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
Other Requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends to support resort operations.
- Attendance is a mandatory function of this job.
Pay
USD $14.25/Hr.
