JOB SUMMARY

A housekeeping job at our hotel involves keeping all rooms and public areas clean and well-maintained. Duties include cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, making beds, replenishing supplies, and responding to guest requests. Accurately maintain an inventory of clean and dirty rooms and report any necessary repairs or maintenance.

JOB DUTIES

  • Maintain hotel rooms and public areas to ensure a safe and clean experience for guests, associates, and visitors.
  • Maintain housekeeping carts and storerooms to enhance cleaning efficiency.
  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas.
  • Wash shower walls, toilets, and bathroom fixtures.
  • Wipe exposed pipes, clean mirrors, sinks, and floors.
  • Replace towels, soaps, and other amenities.
  • Wash hard floor areas.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings.
  • Strip beds and remake with fresh linens.
  • Inspect and restock guest room supplies.
  • Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways.
  • Check and secure door and window locks.
  • Check and replace light bulbs and remotes.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and associates.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Participate in laundry operations and linen/terry processing.
  • Maintain accurate inventory for cleaning supplies, linens/terry, and guest amenities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning principles and equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of laundry operations and par standards.
  • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and frequently.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Positive team management skills.
  • Basic inventory management and purchasing skills.
  • Scheduling and performing semi-annual deep cleans.
  • Maintaining records for labor, inventory, and purchasing.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Adhere to fair housing guidelines and employment laws.
  • Utilize property management systems.
  • Write and correspond with outside businesses.
  • Organize multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Monitor social media for timely and appropriate responses.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, climb stairs, push, pull, and reach.
  • Lift/move/push/pull up to 50 lbs. on occasion, frequently.
  • Perform tasks requiring reaching above shoulder.
  • Work in various environments, including potentially noisy or dusty areas.
