Housekeeper (PER DIEM)

About the role

Average work hours: 7:30AM to 4:00PM

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions and assemble necessary cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Perform routine duties such as cleaning common areas and residents' homes.
• Dust furnishings, woodwork, sills, doors, wash walls and windows, dry and wet mop floors, vacuum floors and carpets, and strip and remake unoccupied beds.
• Use stepladders and operate mechanical vacuums.
• Report defective equipment, faulty operations, or questionable matters to supervision.
• Maintain equipment and work areas in clean and orderly condition.
• Monitor housekeeping cart for potential dangers due to cleaning fluids.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures.
• Interact respectfully and effectively with adult and older residents, addressing complaints and concerns.
• Communicate with staff in a positive and supportive manner, working as part of a team.
• Attend departmental meetings and in-service education programs.
• Follow OSHA guidelines for cleaning up blood and other biological material.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Licenses: Valid Driver’s License.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to drive safely and understand traffic regulations.
• Ability to provide person-centered care, demonstrating behaviors and principles of dignity, respect, and compassion.
