Maintain all public and common areas
- Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms.
- Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris.
- Clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, towel dispensers.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners.
Utilize proper safety measures
- Utilize caution signage.
- Keep supplies and chemicals out of reach of the residents.
Use supplies and equipment safely
- Follow the user manual instructions.
Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas
- Maintain in a safe, sanitary, clean and orderly manner.
Notify supervisors
- Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing regarding resident safety issues or concerns.
- Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies are needing replenished.
Qualification
- Minimum requirement to perform the essential functions of this position is a High School Diploma or a GED.
- Experience working in a long term care facility preferred.
Physical Demands
- Sometimes lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Regularly sit, kneel, stand, walk and talk, read or hear.
- Some use of office related equipment to include; copier/scanner/fax, telephone, calculator.
- Daily use of housekeeping supplies and equipment.
Work Environment
- The smell and noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
