Housekeeper - Part Time DeSoto

The Housekeeper supports Pony Bird's commitment to the individuals who call Pony Bird home by ensuring the facility is maintained in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition. Employees in this position perform all laundry services and general housekeeping duties in a community living setting as assigned following prescribed methods and established schedules while meeting or exceeding Pony Bird's quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform all laundry services and general housekeeping duties as assigned
• Follow prescribed methods and established schedules
• Comply with all OSHA safety standards and precautions
• Take necessary and appropriate action in case of emergency, fire, or disaster

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have reliable transportation
• Some experience in housekeeping in a Community Living setting preferred, but not required
• Must be able to comprehend, carry out, and explain verbal and written instructions
• Must possess basic spelling, reading, and mathematical skills
• Must be able to learn and utilize in-house computer programs such as Therap
• Must be organized and responsible
• Must be able to perform tasks with frequent interruptions and work with minimal supervision
• Must be in good physical health and capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling a minimum of 25 pounds without assistance and walking or standing for entire shift
• Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping

Schedule

• Part-time, day shift: 6:45am–3:15pm
• Every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
• Every other holiday (four holidays each year)
• Weekend shift differential: $2.00

Pay

Starting pay: $18.00 per hour
