Qualifications

Housekeepers and Laundry Assistants are selected based on a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the frail, ability to read, write, and carry out directions, maturity, and ability to deal effectively with job demands. Physical ability to lift, push, and pull equipment (including mops and vacuum cleaners), and sufficient energy to perform all assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Follow operational policies and procedures of the living center, and comply with applicable state and local rules, regulations, and laws.
  • Perform heavy cleaning of all resident apartments as assigned (vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, windows, walls, etc.).
  • Clean all common areas, including dining rooms, activity/community rooms.
  • Dust furniture, lamps/light fixtures, handrails, baseboards, etc.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, refill paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap dispensers.
  • Clean windows and mirrors.
  • Check furniture for debris, spots, nicks, etc., and repair/remedy as needed.
  • Empty trash, remove to dumpster(s), and process recyclables.
  • Identify potential maintenance issues and complete work orders.
  • Use safe and proper techniques for chemical/cleaning solutions, storage of products, tools, and carts.
  • Collect soiled laundry from designated collection points.
  • Sort laundry, inspect for spots, stains, tears, etc.
  • Treat spots and stains, mend items prior to washing.
  • Launder items according to manufacturer’s directions.
  • Fold or hang laundry as directed by supervisor (in keeping with resident requests).
  • Iron as required.
  • Return laundered items to the proper resident.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill the goals and objectives of the living center.

Pay

Hourly range: $15.00 - $17.00

Schedule

Part-time options available. 2nd shift.
