Charles E. Smith Life Communities (CESLC) is a mission-driven, nonprofit faith-based organization dedicated to providing quality health care and meaningful life experiences to older adults. Located on a beautiful 38-acre campus in Rockville, Maryland, CESLC offers a wide variety of career opportunities. Responsibilities

• Ensure that work and cleaning procedures are followed.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
• Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
• Serve on, participate in, and attend various facility committees as appointed.
• Attend scheduled department staff meetings to identify and correct problem areas and improve services.
• Participate in new-hire orientation, workshops, seminars, and annual in-service training programs (e.g., hazard communication, TB management, bloodborne pathogens standard).
• Follow established safety regulations, including fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, and infection control.
• Adhere to policies governing the use of labels and MSDSs.
• Keep work areas free of hazardous objects such as protruding mop/broom handles or unnecessary equipment.
• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
• Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, dining rooms, offices, and restrooms daily as instructed.

Requirements

• Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a height of 3 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 6 feet.
• Heavy lifting up to 60 pounds routinely required.

Location

Positions are based at various resident dining areas throughout the organization, including skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, and independent living. The main campus is located at 6121 Montrose Road, Rockville, Maryland.

Schedule

Full-time evening shift, including every other weekend.
