Housekeeper (FT)

About the role

The Rescue Mission of Roanoke has been serving the community since 1948, focusing on helping those in need through compassionate service and faith-based support. As an Environmental Services Technician (Housekeeper), you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the campus and its occupants.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper sanitation and a clean internal and external environment
• Work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Complete tasks consistently and on time, covering duties for the entire main campus as needed
• Maintain and distribute cleaning supplies at custodian closets
• Communicate the status of custodial assignments to relevant ministries
• Enforce infection control procedures and properly dispose of biohazardous materials
• Engage volunteers in daily tasks and special projects

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of general cleaning procedures
• Working knowledge of janitorial and related equipment and chemicals
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to lead and engage volunteers
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Flexible to work a rotating schedule

Benefits

Our team members are provided with a competitive compensation package, including a starting hourly wage of $15.91.

Schedule

Full Time; nonexempt (hourly) 7a.m-3p.m
