Job Summary

Under direct supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor or Manager, the Floor Technician Attendant will perform semi-skilled and skilled cleaning duties. Primarily responsible for all aspects of floor care; stripping of existing floor finish and applying new finish. Also responsible for all aspects of carpet care from vacuuming, spot cleaning and deep extraction of carpeted surfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Performs restoration or project cleaning procedures in order to maintain the appearance of the building at a high level.
  • Strips and refinishes floors, using industrial ride on floor maintenance equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Informs supervisor when supplies are needed before supply is exhausted.
  • Dust mops and damp mops or vacuums corridors in order to maintain their cleanliness and appearance.
  • Performs daily cleaning procedures in non-patient and in-patient areas and restrooms as required by supervision in order to provide coverage when staff shortages occur.
  • Removes trash to the trash compactor or waste storage area to insure it is disposed of properly.
  • Moves furniture and equipment as requested in order to allow for relocation, redecoration, or restorative cleaning of areas within the medical center.
  • Responsible for the set-up of meetings and the distribution of audio visual equipment.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the applicable principles of growth and development over the life span of those they serve.
  • Attends in-service programs and completes Net Learning modules as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write;
  • Ability to be trained and follow directions;
  • Ability to do heavy lifting up to 60 lbs.

Qualifications

  • 6 months prior experience in hard floor restoring/restoration including carpet care.

  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the applicable principles of growth and development over the life span of those they serve.
