About the role
The Rose Gaming Resort is a $480 million gaming and entertainment complex located alongside I-95 in Dumfries, Virginia. Along with gaming, the resort features a luxury hotel, eight bars and restaurants, meeting and event spaces, a 50,000+ square foot gaming floor with over 1,650 Historical Horse Racing machines, and over 80 acres of green space. The property generates an estimated $35.5 million in annual tax revenue and employs more than 500 team members.
Pay
$16.00 hourly
Responsibilities
- Clean guestrooms, make beds, and provide clean terry and robes.
- Clean, dust, sanitize, collect garbage, and replenish collaterals, supplies, amenities, coffee pods, and condiments.
- Respect guest requests and preferences while adhering to enterprise policies and applicable laws.
- Resolve guest complaints and report maintenance issues to the Room Inspector or Supervisor.
- Carry a radio and wear an earpiece to communicate with team members.
- Conduct daily inspections of guestrooms to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
- Follow OSHA rules for chemical usage, ensure proper labeling of hazardous supplies, and maintain equipment according to health and safety guidelines.
- Motivate and collaborate with a diverse team by leading by example, empowering others, sharing knowledge, and coaching.
- Report maintenance issues and guest requests to the Office Coordinator or Supervisor as needed.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Attend required company training sessions.
- Obtain and retain required licenses.
- Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Prevent minors from gambling, loitering in gambling areas, consuming alcohol, or purchasing tobacco.
- Knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures related to the department.
- Knowledge of the property’s programs to address problem gaming.
- Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the team member may have knowledge.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Schedule flexibility including evenings, weekends, holiday shifts, and overtime when needed.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of housekeeping service techniques and productivity expectations.
- Ability to identify and prioritize issues.
- Personable and professional demeanor with discretion in communication.
- Virginia Racing Commission License.
- Valid driver’s license with a minimum of three years driving experience.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Frequently required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger, reach, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- May be required to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
- Work environment noise level is usually moderate to loud.
- Employee circulates throughout assigned areas, including smoking areas, actively observing players and machine functionality.
