About the Role

Join one of America's most award-winning inns and restaurants, The Inn at Little Washington, located just 30 minutes from Culpeper. Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of cleaning activities which include, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, disposing trash and making beds
• Ensure all rooms are cleaned and inspected according to 5 Star standards and within deadlines
• Perform turn up and turn down services for guest rooms
• Replenish guestroom and public area restrooms
• Maintain professional etiquette with all guests and employees
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
• Respond to guest requests in a timely and professional manner
• Communicate any special requests to Housekeeping supervisor
• Follow standard operating procedures and safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times
• Stock and maintain housekeeping cart
• Assist public area attendant in cleaning and maintaining the public areas as needed
• Assist with cleaning, folding, ironing and steaming of laundry as needed
• Complete all assigned projects by the Housekeeping supervisor
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Inn and its history
• Follow all disinfecting and sanitization policies

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of housekeeping experience
• Must be able to work weekends and have a flexible work schedule
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must be well-groomed and well-presented with no visible tattoos

Skills

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a close team environment
• Ability to use standard housekeeping equipment, which include, but not limited to, a linen cart, vacuum, mop, broom and various chemicals for cleaning
• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
• Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to speak using clear and professional language
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to cross-train across multiple departments and assist when needed
• Must always be compliant with quality assurance expectations and standards
• Ability to complete assigned work in a timely manner

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift 30+ lbs
• Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting and climbing
