Housekeeper

About the Role

As a Housekeeper at our Assisted Living Facility, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents. Your attention to detail, organization, and dedication to cleanliness will contribute to the well-being and satisfaction of our residents. This position reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and changing bed linens.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in common areas such as lounges, dining areas, hallways, and restrooms.
• Perform regular cleaning tasks, such as emptying trash bins, cleaning windows, and polishing surfaces.
• Follow established protocols and safety guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Assist in monitoring and replenishing housekeeping supplies, including toiletries, towels, and cleaning products.
• Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate cleaning schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Uphold the privacy and confidentiality of residents’ personal belongings and information.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to resident inquiries or concerns in a professional and courte manner.
• Move furniture to ensure cleanliness of designated areas.
• Support with additional duties as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work, preferably in health care or senior living setting.
• Health screening, TB clearance, and criminal record clearance required.
• First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).

Skills

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment used in a professional setting.
• Understanding of infection control practices and safety protocols.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to interact with residents and staff professionally.
• Dependability and punctuality in adhering to assigned work schedules.
• Respect for resident privacy and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Pay

$20.25 to $22.50 per hour
