Housekeeper

About the role

As a Housekeeper at our Assisted Living Facility, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of resident rooms, common areas, and other facility spaces. Your attention to detail, organization, and dedication to cleanliness will contribute to the well-being and satisfaction of our residents. This position reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and changing bed linens.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in common areas such as lounges, dining areas, hallways, and restrooms.
• Perform regular cleaning tasks, such as emptying trash bins, cleaning windows, and polishing surfaces.
• Follow established protocols and safety guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Assist in monitoring and replenishing housekeeping supplies, including toiletries, towels, and cleaning products.
• Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate cleaning schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Uphold the privacy and confidentiality of residents’ personal belongings and information.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to resident inquiries or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
• May need to move furniture to ensure cleanliness of designated areas.
• Support with additional duties as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Required Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work, preferably in a health care or senior living setting.

Skills

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment used in a professional setting.
• Understanding of infection control practices and safety protocols.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift moderate weights.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to interact with residents and staff in a professional manner.
• Dependability and punctuality in adhering to assigned work schedules.
• Respect for resident privacy and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Pay

$17.00 to $19.50 per hour
