Housekeeper

Essential Functions

• Performs cleaning and sanitizing tasks per department scheduled policies and services through the facility
• Uses a cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies
• Stocks cart at end of shift
• Cleans and disinfects bathrooms, resident rooms, employee break rooms, offices, hallways and entrances per department standards
• Removes linens, towels, bedspreads and blankets to launder
• Picks up and empties trash containers in resident rooms, common spaces, and office areas
• Performs isolation cleaning procedures in accordance with established infection control procedures
• Auxiliary with laundry tasks as needed to meet resident and facility needs
• Clean floors (Sweeping, vacuuming, wet/dry mopping)
• Remove dust, dirt, grease, film, etc. from surfaces, using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions
• Keep walls, windows, ceilings, mirrors, etc. clean by washing, wiping, disinfecting, deodorizing, and following the deep cleaning procedures
• Stock bathrooms with soap, towels and toilet paper
• Maintain cleanliness of the facility by monitoring and reporting necessary repairs
• Attend all mandatory in-services, educational training and department meetings

Physical Demands

• To adequately perform the essential functions of the job you must have the physical capabilities to stand, sit, walk for extended lengths of time
• Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted with frequent and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to bend, pull and do repetitive motions on a daily basis

Work Environment

This job operates in a healthcare setting. This worker is exposed to adverse environmental factors and involves high risk exposure to blood, tissue and body fluids and chemicals.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent. Professional cleaning experience preferred
