Housekeeper

About the Role

We are seeking a Housekeeper to maintain the clean and neat appearance of all assigned areas in our beautiful active lifestyle HOA Community in Groveland, FL. The Housekeeper is also responsible for reporting any issues to the management team, including problems that may not be listed in the job description. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change at any time by the onsite management team.

Responsibilities

• Clean hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, common rooms (party room, fitness center), and other work areas to meet health standards.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
• Empty wastebaskets, outdoor ashtrays, and transport trash and waste to disposal areas.
• Carry toilet items and cleaning supplies using wheeled carts.
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing/waxing machines.
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
• Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Wash windows, walls, ceilings, doors, and woodwork; wax and polish as necessary.
• Report maintenance issues such as burned-out lights, leaks, or broken equipment to the Building Maintenance Department.
• Disinfect equipment and supplies using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers.
• Dust window blinds.
• Observe all State, Federal, and Company safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.
• Follow precautions to protect residents, guests, and property; report damage, theft, or found articles to supervisors.
• Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations and furniture for social or business functions.
• Properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures before use.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.

Work Environment

The Housekeeper performs duties in an HOA resort environment, primarily cleaning common areas and waiting areas. The role requires working with chemical cleaning solutions and exposure to outdoor climate and weather conditions.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, climb stairs, and use ladders.
• Ability to crawl in small and tight spaces, stoop, and/or kneel.
• Ability to lift, move, and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to push cleaning equipment up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to handle, finger, grasp, and feel objects and equipment.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in housekeeping or a related field.
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products and their proper use.
• Ability to use standard cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum cleaner, floor polisher, cleaning cart).
• Ability to react and address emergency situations promptly.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Schedule

This is a non-exempt (hourly) position. The schedule will be determined based on the business needs of the community and may change to accommodate those needs.
