About the role
High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency committed to treating and preventing substance use disorders and mental illness. We offer a range of services including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based care across Southeastern Massachusetts.
Responsibilities
- Ensures patient rooms, bathrooms, community areas, staff offices, group rooms, nursing stations, corridors, stairwells, etc., are clean, properly disinfected, sanitized, and free of odor at all times.
- Wet mops daily or as needed.
- Attends to spills immediately.
- Empty trash and clean containers.
- Clean floor edges and corners to prevent build-up.
- Clean windows, windowsills and other furnishings.
- Knowledge of chemical handling and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Knowledge of chemical ingredients, mixing dangers and proper storage.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety precautions.
- Knowledge of Infection Control Standards – Hand Washing, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Blood spill kits, etc.
- General knowledge of proper cleaning procedures, disinfecting, etc.
- Replaces soiled linen, as needed, in patient rooms.
- Handles all Bio-Hazard.
- Utilizes standard precautions at all times.
- Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients/clients as defined by the patient’s right.
- Coordinates with MHS/RS staff to maintain accurate linen and scrubs inventory.
- Attends all unit, facility meetings and supervisions as directed by Supervisor.
- Attends mandatory trainings.
- Other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor, Program Director, or COO.
Requirements
- Must always present as courteous and professional.
- Must have demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks.
- Must have basic communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, and understanding English sufficiently to follow instructions, complete documentation, and ensure safe and effective performance of duties.
- Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner.
- A basic understanding of boundaries and ethics.
- Must comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations.
- Must undergo TB Screening.
- Must obtain certification in the HPAO approved de-escalation program.
- Must hold CPR Certification.
Qualifications
- Must be no less than 18 years of age.
- A High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent is preferred.

Pay
$20 - $23.50/hr depending on experience.
Schedule
Sunday-Thursday Shift: 7AM-3:30PM; flexible hours.
