About the role

The Housekeeper/Janitor position requires advanced training and demonstrated skill. Cleaning tasks include sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash disposal. Reports are submitted to the Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning/maintenance duties as assigned
• Informs Supervisor of needed supplies
• Maintains cleaning solutions according to OSHA requirements
• Removes trash and assists in emergency cleaning
• Utilizes new equipment safely and follows safety procedures
• Maintains friendly and professional attitude
• Maintains sanitary supplies for assigned areas
• Inspects assigned areas daily and reports discrepancies
• Ensures adherence to security and safety procedures
• Completes daily work orders as scheduled
• Maintains assigned equipment in good condition
• Cleans restrooms: Sweeps and mops floors, refills dispensers, cleans toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, and counters, empties trash
• Reports discrepancies to supervisor
• Utilizes new equipment safely and follows safety procedures

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred
• Previous custodial experience preferred
• Multiple language fluency desirable
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required
• Ability to lift 50 lbs following safety procedures
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Ability to crawl in small and tight spaces
• Ability to work in different environmental conditions
• Ability to reach, handle, grasp, and feel objects and equipment
• Ability to perform various motions with wrists, hands, and fingers
• Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 3 feet

Skills
