Housekeeper

About the Role

To provide overall janitorial and housekeeping services to the Community Clinic of Maui dba Malama I Ke Ola Health Center locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial services for all clinic locations, including:
  • Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and emptying trash containers
  • Maintaining supplies and general detailing in all areas inside and outside the clinic
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms on an established frequency
• Clean windows, glass, and mirrors
• Perform deep cleaning on an established frequency, including walls, furniture, machines, and equipment
• Clean and disinfect respiratory rooms and high-touch surfaces
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish environmentally-friendly floors according to manufacturer’s instructions
• Mix water and cleaning agents according to manufacturer’s instructions
• Secure buildings when work is performed outside clinic business hours if security staff are not available
• Maintain exterior areas to preserve a professional, safe, and clean appearance, including clearing debris and obstacles in walking pathways and parking lots
• Notify managers immediately about any identified safety or security concerns
• Report the need for major repairs or additions to operating systems
• Prepare requisitions for replenishment of supplies and equipment/tools to maintain facilities
• Set up, arrange, and remove temporary items for events and functions (e.g., decorations, tables, chairs, ladders) using hand trucks and two-person lifting techniques as needed
• Attend and participate in meetings and committees as necessary
• Attend additional training sessions to improve efficiencies, safety, quality, and cleanliness
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Entry-level working knowledge of cleaning techniques, tools, implements, chemicals, and equipment
• One year of related work experience preferred
• Ability to efficiently, safely, and effectively use all required equipment and supplies for maintenance and cleaning
• Negative TB test within the past 12 months
