Housekeeper

About the Role

As our Housekeeper, you will work under the supervision of the housekeeping supervisor to clean and maintain assigned areas of the hospital in a sanitary and orderly way. You will promote a clean and healthy environment for all employees, patients, and guests, with a commitment to social justice, health equity, and innovative cleanliness practices.

Responsibilities

• Daily Patient Room Cleaning: Disinfect and clean all surfaces, fixtures, and furniture; wet and dry mop floors; and properly dispose of garbage.
• Weekly Patient Room Responsibilities: Move furniture for cleaning, dust all surfaces (including windows, vents, and lights), clean/disinfect garbage cans, and replace supplies.
• Common Area Maintenance: Daily duties include cleaning hall handrails, vacuuming carpets, dusting hallway floors, and weekly wet mopping, with daily cleaning/disinfection of public bathrooms.
• Isolation Protocol Adherence: Practice strict infection control, properly dispose of isolation room waste, use a fresh mop head per room, and utilize color-coded cleaning rags.
• Clinic Daily Routines: Disinfect and clean all bathroom and treatment room fixtures/floors, vacuum carpets, and properly dispose of both regular and red bag garbage.
• As-Needed & Monthly Tasks: Clean fans, replace sharps containers, spot clean walls, shampoo chairs, clean AC filters, doors/trim, and replace divider curtains.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and complete written and verbal instructions.

Preferred: Housekeeping skills (helpful but not required).

About the Workplace

CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25-bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department available 24 hours a day. Since 1952, the hospital has provided quality medical treatment to the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities. It offers 2 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT, and physical therapy services, along with 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, and acute care services.

Pay

$15.00 - $20.12 per hour.
