Housekeeper
Position Summary
As a University Housekeeper, you will play a critical role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness across the university campus facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring that academic buildings, administrative offices, dormitories, and other university premises are kept in pristine condition to create a conducive environment for learning, working, and living.
Responsibilities
- Keeps facilities and common areas clean and maintained
- Vacuums and sweeps floors, carpet, and rugs
- Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, showers, toilets, sinks, and countertops
- Replenishes toiletries and paper towels
- Empties trash receptacles
- Performs deep cleaning when required
- Responds to calls for housekeeping problems throughout campus
- Works with a team of housekeepers on each shift
- Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies
- Deep cleaning of dormitories annually
Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 25 Ibs.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work well under little supervision
- High school Diploma or at least 3 years in a housekeeping or custodian position
- Evening and weekend availability required, some overtime is expected
- Multilingual skills highly preferred
- Commitment to contributing to a climate that supports a diverse student body, serves first-generation college students, multilingual learners, and contributions to equity and social justice through their work
