About the Facility

Wolcott Hall Nursing Center is a 58-bed skilled nursing facility located right off of Route 8 in Torrington, CT. Wolcott Hall maintains an excellent community reputation and a very family-like atmosphere. Because we are small, it is easier to really get to know the residents and family members, as well as create working relationships. Apple Rehab is a family-owned and operated company that treats residents and staff like family, with senior management based locally in Avon, CT.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality housekeeping services to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe environment for all facility residents and staff.
• Clean assigned areas of the facility, including but not limited to resident rooms and bathrooms, on a scheduled basis to meet high standards of cleanliness, infection control, safety, and hazardous communication.
• Plan efficient use of time and cooperate with all other staff while performing responsibilities with minimal disruption to residents and staff.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and department.
• Assist in maintaining adequate supplies needed in the department.

Requirements

• Ability to read labels and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and take appropriate action.
• Ability to visually assess all aspects of the facility.
• Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures and to hear and respond to pages.
• Physical ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, grasp, pull, stretch, stoop, and have fine hand coordination.
• Ability to lift and move furniture and heavy items weighing approximately 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility.
