Housekeeper

Job Description Performs various housekeeping functions such as cleaning patient rooms, administrative offices, halls, floors, bathrooms and other public areas in order to maintain the Hospital in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition in compliance with regulatory standards. Required to move furniture, stripping and waxing, burnishing (buffing) and carpet cleaning. Employees hired primarily for floor care shall be self-motivated, able to work independently and operate large floor-care equipment. This position shall consist primarily of floor care, but the employee will assist in regular cleaning when scheduled. Responsibilities Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, stairways and other work areasStrips, waxes, polishes floors, and extracts carpetsPerforms cleaning activities according to established guidelinesVacuums carpeted floorsCorrectly prepares cleaning solution to disinfectWashes walls, ceilings and windows Dust and wet mopsEmpties wastebaskets in appropriate containerTransports trash and waste to disposal areasCollects infectious waste in red biohazard bags or sharps and replaces suppliesRemoves & transports soiled linens to waste storage areaDistributes laundered articles and linensMaintains appropriate inventory levelsReplenishes bathroom supplies Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
