Housekeeper - 2nd Shift

About the role

Responsible for day-to-day housekeeping tasks under the supervision of a 3-person Manager/Foreperson team. This role is primarily assigned to our brand new, state-of-the-art Athletic Fieldhouse and includes participation in special event set-up, running, and breakdown.

Schedule

3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (Midnight) with a 30-minute lunch, Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday (two positions available). A $1 shift differential is paid on top of your hourly wage for all work between 6 PM and 6 AM.

Responsibilities

• Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks throughout assigned areas of the property.
• Uses cleaning cart to transport supplies.
• Cleans and disinfects bathrooms, kitchens, and dining areas.
• Wipes and dusts surfaces; cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions.
• Vacuums and cleans floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes.
• Mops and cleans hard surface flooring.
• Uses mechanical cleaning machines (floor cleaners, steam cleaners, carpet cleaners) for deep cleaning.
• Picks up and empties trash containers.
• Aids in setup and breakdown of special events.
• Notifies maintenance of equipment issues.
• Assists Facilities and Operations during snow removal.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work environment

• Various indoor spaces: residential dormitories, classrooms, dining hall, function facilities, athletics facilities, and offices.
• Outdoors in all New England weather conditions.

Physical demands

• Remain standing and walking for 8 hours per day (up to 12 hours seasonally).
• Ability to go up and down flights of steps.
• Lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
• Stoop, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift.
• Operate complex mobile machinery safely.
• Lift and/or move 10 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and 100+ pounds occasionally without assistance.
• Traverse various areas of the facility, including unpaved areas, dirt paths, and uneven terrain.
• Withstand exposure to inclement weather (rain, snow, sleet, freezing temperatures).
• Normal vision and hearing parameters.
• Reach by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.

Qualifications

• Education sufficient to read, write, and speak as needed for the job.
• Able to successfully complete CHRI, CORI, and SORI checks.
