About the role

Mount Carmel Behavioral Health is an 80-bed hospital that provides acute inpatient and outpatient care for adults aged 18 and above dealing with mental or behavioral health issues. The hospital also offers specialized care for those with primary psychiatric diagnoses accompanied by co-occurring addiction.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and healthy patient care environment.
• Perform specific cleaning and custodial tasks including disinfecting rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies.
• Disinfect rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies, using appropriate processes and germicides for cleaning equipment.
• Perform other housekeeping duties such as moving and arranging furniture, turning mattresses, cleaning kitchens, cooking utensils, silverware, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors as needed.
• Launder soiled linens as directed.
• Maintain adequate cleaning supplies for department/unit use.
• Properly clean and store all equipment and supplies after each shift.
• Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations and furniture for facility functions.
• Stock supplies as needed.
• Follow all infection control measures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in housekeeping in a commercial, clinical, or healthcare environment preferred.
• Valid state driver's license, where required in a facility.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
