Job Summary: Responsible for performing work aimed at preventing the spread of any diseases by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and apparatuses.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning duties in alignment with the organization and according to pre-established schedules and infection control guidelines.
• Completes waste stream removal.
• According to established procedures clean and service assigned areas.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around the Medical Center departments, and performs a variety of cleaning duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition.
• Operates assigned equipment, (floor machines, buffers).
• Participates in a minimum of eight unit/department meetings annually.
• Maintain assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe and sanitary condition at all times.

Requirements

Physical demands include standing, walking, balancing, lifting/carrying up to 35 lbs (with assisted device), pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, gross and fine manipulation, constant feeling, far and near vision, talking, hearing, and minimal foot use.

Qualifications

• Education: Some High School Completed (preferred).
• Experience: 0‑1 year of related experience preferred; experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Skills

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply them safely.
• Working knowledge of various cleaning tools such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.

Pay

Pay Range: $17.71 – $21.51 per hour (Hourly Grade 1).

Schedule

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40. Work Shift: Evening. Work Location: 81 Highland Avenue, Onsite.
