House Supervisor (RN) – Night Shift

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of hospital operations during assigned shifts.
- Serve as the liaison between patient care units, physicians, leadership, and support departments.
- Cookout nursing activities and ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
- Conduct routine rounds on patient care units to assess staffing, patient care needs, and resource availability.
- Monitor staffing levels, attendance, and schedule adjustments to ensure safe patient care coverage.
- Serve as a clinical resource and provide hands-on patient care support as needed, including responding to emergencies and assisting with complex patient situations.
- Investigate, document, and address patient, family, visitor, and provider concerns while promoting effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Support risk management, infection prevention, safety initiatives, incident reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational effectiveness.
- Aid in orientation, staff development, competency validation, and ongoing education activities.
- Communicate nursing service activities, staffing concerns, and significant events to Nursing Leadership.
- Serve as the hospital administrative representative during nights, weekends, holidays, and in the absence of department managers or directors.
Required Qualifications
- Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum two years of hospital-based nursing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- PALS, NRP, and TNCC certifications obtained within 18 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and assist with transferring patients, including lifting up to 50 pounds and supporting heavier transfers with appropriate assistive devices.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and movement throughout the shift.
- Ability to communicate effectively and assess environmental and patient safety concerns.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a hospital setting with potential exposure to infectious agents and hazardous medications.
- Daily use of medical equipment, monitoring devices, computers, and electronic health record systems is required.
