House Supervisor - RN

About the role
Responsible for day-to-day oversight of nursing operations, ensuring adequate staffing and delivery of behavioral health/nursing services with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams to meet residents’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs. Provides leadership to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as nursing practice standards, with patient safety as a top priority.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate and manage changes in census and acuity, allocating nursing resources based on patient acuity and care needs.
- Role model customer service expectations and demonstrate urgency related to patient safety.
- Enforce and interpret policies for patient and resident care.
- Ensure proper staffing for each unit, covering call-offs and vacation time.
- Complete chart checks, maintain seclusion/restraint logs, nursing assessments, MARs, and report sheets.
- Conduct rounds at the start of shifts and perform random audits.
- Assist nursing leaders in orienting and ensuring staff competence, including coaching and mentoring.
- Ensure facility compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards.
- Monitor and evaluate patient care processes and outcomes to ensure competent, compassionate, and safe care.
- Coordinate all care rendered to patients, including physician orders and diagnostic information.
- Document medical, behavioral health, and nursing care information.
- Administer medications and maintain records per company policies.
- Assist in developing and updating patient care plans with specific, measurable goals.
- Prioritize tasks and delegate staff to ensure quality patient care.
- Lead admissions, discharges, and communicate changes in patient conditions to physicians.
- Adjust staffing as needed and utilize administrator-on-call for additional support.
- Provide direct care as needed.
- Perform other assigned functions and tasks.
Requirements
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing preferred; current registered nursing license in the state of facility required.
- Greater than 1 year of experience as an RN strongly preferred; minimum 1 year of experience as an RN in any setting required.
- 1 year of experience in psychiatric/recovery programs preferred.
- Some experience as a charge RN or other leadership position strongly preferred.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility.
Schedule
Full-time nights: 3-12 hour shifts with rotating weekends.
