House Supervisor

Non-Bargaining Wage Range: $70.32 to $78.50, dependent on experience. This is a temporary (90-day) position.

About the Role

The Nursing Supervisor is a leadership position that supports senior leadership, staff, and patients, fostering a safe and healing environment while ensuring high-quality care. Nursing Supervisors must model a passion for nursing, identify and communicate barriers to consistent, effective patient-centered care, and evaluate issues to identify trends. Responsibilities

• Support senior leadership, staff, and patients in delivering high-quality care.
• Identify and constructively communicate barriers to patient-centered care.
• Evaluate issues, identify trends, and solve problems independently or collaboratively.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in techniques of good patient care.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Qualifications

• RN currently licensed with the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
• BLS through American Heart Association, ACLS, PALS, and NRP required within six months of hire.
• Trauma Certification required within one year.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• 5 years of experience in an acute care setting.
• 2 years of supervisory experience required; Critical Care or Emergency Department preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to lift and transfer patients, usually with the assistance of co-workers.
• Normal or corrected vision and hearing required to distinguish monitor alarms, heartbeats, and breathing.
• Manual dexterity to operate equipment.
• Subject to physical and emotional stress within a fast-paced environment.
• Occasional exposure to infectious diseases.
• Works primarily indoors.
• Walking and standing for much of the shift.
• Long shifts may be necessary at times.
• Pushes/pulls loaded adult stretchers, beds, wheelchairs, crash carts, and equipment carts.
• Transfers patients to/from cars, stretchers, beds, chairs, and ambulates as necessary.
• Tolerates bending, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling for up to 8 hours.
• Lifts or carries up to 50 lbs.
