House Mother

Ruth’s House is looking for someone who wants to make a measurable and meaningful impact on the lives of single mothers and children in the community. The House Mother is responsible for helping with the day-to-day operations and supervision of the residents. The House Mother is a relational position where she mentors and supports the program participants and help promote and empower these individuals to experience life with confidence and dignity. In addition, the House Mother will offer spiritual and emotional support to our mothers and their little ones. The house mother helps to create a loving environment for the moms and their children. She helps them develop godly character by modeling it. This includes loving, caring, affirming, and healthy grace-centered discipline when needed. The House Mother of Ruth’s House is a highly motivated and experienced individual who has the vision and passion to pour into single moms and their children and to see them thrive and achieve their God-given potential and calling in life. It is somebody who is growth-minded, loves to learn and grow, and is able to model that persistent, tireless learning spirit to those in the home. She reports directly to the Executive Director. This is a live-inposition, five days a week from 5 p.m. to 10 pm and 7:00 am to 8 a.m. QualificationsMature evangelical Christian Obtain and maintain valid CPR and First Aid Certification Excellent spoken and written English language skillsExcellent leadership, prioritization, and time management skills Competency with computers and google docsMust have a valid driver’s licenseDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide loving motherly leadership to the moms and their children and the effective management of the homeSupport the residents’ efforts in carrying out their evening and morning routine.Lead devotion and prayer during dinner. Represent the organization as instructed.Maintain confidentiality to protect the rights and privacy of all persons servedMake themselves available for any emergency that might occur overnight. Work with Program Care Manager to create a cohesive approach with the residents of the houseBecome very acquainted with Ruth's House guidelines to exemplify all that is in the handbook and to be able to guide the residents accordingly.Manage the home - maintain clean, safe, organized home:Ensure women follow the evening and morning schedule.Ensure that all maintain sanitary conditions in and around the house, and personally maintain health and hygiene.Ensure that moms are up by 7:00 AM and in rooms by lights out at 10:00 PM.Be part of weekly Bible study and classes that are offered during their shift.Physical Requirements: Physical ability to lift/carry 25+ lbs. and climb stairs
