House Attendant

About the Role

As a House Attendant (HA) at Sonesta International Hotels, you will work with the Housekeeping Management Team to support Room Attendants by managing linens, assisting with heavy items, and maintaining cleanliness in guest areas, corridors, and public spaces. You may also be assigned to the commercial laundry function or special projects as directed by the Housekeeping Manager.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all guest and client interactions according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Assist Room Attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens.
• Deliver linens and supplies to Room Attendants and maintain the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and corridors, including removing trash, wiping surfaces, and sweeping/mopping/vacuuming floors.
• Respond to guest requests and complaints in a timely and efficient manner to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Clean designated areas such as public restrooms, storage rooms, and other public spaces.
• Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
• Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all areas of housekeeping.
• Deliver lost and found items according to established procedures.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
• When assigned to laundry, monitor supplies and equipment, operate washers and dryers, inspect linens for damage, fold and store clean linens, and report damages to your supervisor.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other shifts and departmental management.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Some previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Previous background in the extended stay industry is a plus.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred; other languages are beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities are preferred.
• Frequently required to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility.
• Ability to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Willingness to regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals.
• Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Pay range: $23.00 - $24.50 per hour. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
