About the Role
To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Provide instruction and support in the curriculum areas for which employed; make appropriate and equitable use of instructional resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the district, school, and/or program; maintain contact and communication with guardians/caregivers of scholars, working with them in the development of their scholar; design, deliver, and assess curriculum according to district guidelines; provide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning when applicable; and work collaboratively with others. Willing to participate in district and building leadership activities.
Responsibilities
- Implement Pre-K (4-year-olds) class and ECFE classes, including delivery and design of lessons that align with the curriculum and assessment practices of the Early Childhood & Family Education program.
- Align teaching practices with a multi-tiered support system to develop successful learners.
- Teach as a member of a classroom team, which may include a parent educator, Educational Support Professional (ESP), and possibly Early Childhood Special Education staff.
- Provide leadership and work direction for ESP.
- Maintain consistent communication with parents and work with them in the development of their child.
- Maintain an attractive and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
- Attend and contribute to program staff meetings and training.
- Support outreach efforts as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- MN teaching license in appropriate field, OR a valid MN teaching license in another field and willing to obtain an Out of Field Permission.*
- If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2 license.*

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with highly diverse populations.
- Experience working with families of low socio-economic status.
- Experience working with young children with no or limited group experiences.
- Bilingual in Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or Vietnamese.
Schedule
- Part-time, hourly, 27.55 hrs/week.
- One Pre-K (4-year-old) class at Willow Lane Early Childhood Center: Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings.
- ECFE classes at Willow Lane and/or Arbor View, including one evening class per week.
- Hours may expand to include one Saturday morning assignment per session.
Pay
$36.74 - $49.07 per hour (view salary grid).
