Position Summary

The Endocrine Disruption and Chemical Biology Laboratory (EDC Lab) is recruiting a Research Assistant to join our team. Our research bridges reproductive biology, toxicology, and sustainable chemistry to study the mechanisms by which environmental chemicals act as endocrine disruptors. Specifically, we combine chemical biology techniques with in vitro mouse models of the female reproductive system to study environmentally relevant mixtures of chemical toxicants. This is a limited time position appropriate for a recent graduate who is looking to spend a year doing research in preparation for beginning a PhD program.

About the Role

The candidate will facilitate daily laboratory operations, including tissue culture support and mouse handling. The Research Assistant will also perform experiments, contribute to manuscripts/grants/abstracts, receive mentorship from the PI, and be a part of an inclusive environment that supports creativity, professional development, and scientific discovery.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Recent graduate with a strong interest in research and a desire to pursue a PhD.
  • Experience in laboratory settings preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
  • Basic understanding of molecular biology and/or toxicology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, toxicology, chemistry).
  • Experience in laboratory settings preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
  • Basic understanding of molecular biology and/or toxicology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
