About the role
As a Rail Forklift Operator, you’ll be part of a productive team transporting merchandise within the warehouse to put away, drop down, and rotate full pallets of stock through inventory reserve racks using a sit-down forklift. This is a fast-paced role for energetic, highly organized individuals who enjoy staying active.
Responsibilities
- Transport merchandise to/from receiving dock or reserve slots to proper warehouse locations.
- Maintain proper replenishment in the computer using a handheld device when pallets are put back in the rack.
- Stack cases and rotate merchandise.
- Refill benches and fill pallet slots.
- Select orders when needed.
- Move/slot finished product from production to designated storage area.
- Pull finished product from storage and load on trailers.
- Maintain accurate records of quantities, pack size, and description.
- Unload material/product from trailers.
- Utilize necessary technology (e.g., voice, RF gun) to select product.
- Complete paperwork on transfer of material and date pallets with current date.
- Complete inspection forms on equipment operated; change forklift battery when applicable.
- Keep work area clean: sweep floor slots, clean spills, and re-work damage.
- Perform sanitation duties when necessary.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Physical demands
- Continually stand, bend, pull, pivot, and lift up to 90% of the shift.
- Walk on various surfaces including concrete, tile, and carpet.
- Frequently lift product weighing between 1–60 lbs. or more, including lifting from floor to overhead.
- Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height.
- Safe handling of sharp objects including box-cutting tools.
Requirements
- Several years of experience operating a sit-down forklift.
- Strong sense of safety and ability to follow standard safety procedures.
- Team-oriented outlook with a passion for helping others.
- Desire to work with a team to support community-positive causes.
- Ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
Schedule
1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
Pay
$22/hour.
