Hourly CDL/Truck Driving Instructor- Vernon Campus

Description of Duties

• Prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
• Prepare classroom and range for class activities
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Use relevant technology/simulators to support instruction
• Provide maintenance reports on all equipment
• Observe and evaluate student's performance and development
• Provide appropriate feedback on work
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
• Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, policies, and school regulations
• Prepare required reports on students and activities
• Manage student behavior in the classroom and on the range by enforcing rules and procedures
• Maintain daily attendance sheet
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students and colleagues regarding student progress and student needs
• Keep up to date with developments in subject area
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Travel Required

Minimal

Experience and Training

• Commercial Driver with a minimum of two (2) years of Behind the Wheel experience
• Holds a Commercial Driver's License with a five (5) year safe driving record

Education

• High School diploma or GED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of state and federal regulations concerning operations of all motor vehicles especially truck and trailer laws
• Basic technology skills
• Ability to communicate with a diverse population
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL training/teaching experience preferred

Minimum Educational Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

Salary or Salary Range

This is a 12 month full-time faculty position with full time benefits. This position will be posted until filled, and this position is available immediately. This is an hourly position paying $24 per hour. This position does not receive benefits.
