The Omaha Marriott at the Capitol District is seeking a dedicated individual to join our dynamic team and contribute to the exceptional guest experience we're known for. Located in the heart of downtown Omaha, our hotel is a premier destination with 333 modern rooms and over 15,000 square feet of event space, serving as the anchor of Omaha's vibrant Capitol District.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily shift reports including documenting all calls in the Engineer’s log, monitoring and closing out calls through Marriott GXP system.
  • Adhere to all OSHA standards and procedures.
  • Maintain building interior and exterior.
  • Foster excellent guest/associate rapport by promptly addressing requests.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all FF&E.
  • Assist in cost control: Heat, Power, Light, Sewer and Water and provide recommendations for improved methods and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and/or maintain the following:
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous engineering experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • CFC Certification for Refrigerant handling and Power Engineering Training Program certification preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as Lockout Tag Out, SDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates.
  • Must be able to analyze problems, identify course of action, implement solutions, and work as an independent mechanic.
  • Represent the company in a courteous and well-groomed manner.
  • Must be able to use and understand hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist, and stretch.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and the ability to work under pressure.
