Responsibilities
- Adhere to all departmental and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards.
- Provide a constant supply of clean linens for the entire hotel.
- Clean hotel guests’ personal items when required.
- Ensure work area is neat and orderly.
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and store linens according to established procedures.
- Sweep and clean work area and clean/mop restrooms.
- Perform routine maintenance on laundry equipment, such as cleaning dryer traps and greasing flat ironer.
- Maintain production output according to level of room occupancy.
- Assist vendors with inspections and tests of cleaning agents and operations.
- Count and process reclaimed items.
- Weigh and count all received linen.
- Keep accurate records of delivered and received linen counts from all receiving departments; maintain daily worksheets.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all company matters.
- Deliver quality products and service that meets guest needs.
- Work in a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized manner abiding by all health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and act as a role model according to the established grooming and appearance policy.
- Stay informed on department and property knowledge and promotions.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous casino/hotel industry experience preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Must perform duties with a sense of urgency.
- Must be able to work as a team with other employees.
- Six months of previous cleaning and laundry experience preferred.
- Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of computerized systems.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work area.
- Ability to use all equipment associated with the position.
- Ability to inspect laundry items, maintain inventory control, and perform all associated recordkeeping.
- Must have ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Requires the ability to twist and lift up to 50 pounds, and push/pull loads of up to 100 pounds, to load, wash, and store laundry items.
- Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to maintain a high level of energy.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
