About the role

Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Responsibilities

• Receive soiled linen by bag, cart, or chute from floors.
• Sort all articles; inspect laundry and linens, and record damaged or stained items.
• Assist in removing soiled linen from vacant guest rooms and housekeeper carts, transporting them to the laundry facility.
• Operate washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and guidelines, ensuring proper chemical usage.
• Inform Housekeeping Manager or Lead of any malfunctioning equipment.
• Fold and store clean linens.
• Assist in completing regular linen and terry inventories.
• Restock maid carts and closets with fresh linen.
• Clean work area and dryer vents as required.
• Report all Lost & Found items to Housekeeping Manager or Lead.
• Respond quickly and courteously to guest requests.
• Follow all HAZCOM, MSDS, and Blood Borne Pathogen prevention procedures.
• Comply with all safety handling procedures and emergency protocols.
• Cross-train to assist with guest room or public area cleaning.
• Actively participate in hotel meetings, training, programs, and events.
• Adhere to all company and department policies, procedures, and standards.
• Maintain a professional appearance and behavior at all times.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of related experience in hotel housekeeping preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English, including basic instructions and correspondence.
• Effective communication with guests and team members.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Eligibility for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission.
• Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Demonstrate hospitality verbally or through expression.

Physical Demands

• Spend a major portion of the workday walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, stretching, and crouching.
• Regularly use and reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently talk or hear.
• Frequently lift objects up to 20 pounds.
• Operate washers, dryers, vacuum cleaners, and carts.
• Moderate noise level in the work environment.
• Work in a smoking facility (employee smoking only permitted in designated areas).
