Hotel Engineer

Responsibilities

• Carry out room inspections and report any necessary repairs.
• Install or repair drywall and other wall coverings.
• Paint designated areas and items.
• Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, such as light switches, receptacles, and light bulbs.
• Repair furniture as needed.
• Install, replace, and program televisions.
• Perform minor plumbing tasks, including replacing and repairing water lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• Maintain and document repair and preventative maintenance records.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
• Work towards improving guest satisfaction scores and overall guest satisfaction.
• Practice safe work habits and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent, along with relevant experience in a hotel or related field.
• At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, though not required.
• Ability to work flexible hours and handle heavy lifting.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with all levels of employees and guests.
• Ability to listen attentively and provide clear, courteous, and service-oriented responses to concerns.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines.
