Hotel Assistant Housekeeping Manager

Responsibilities

• Schedules room and cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage.
• Performs all housekeeping duties necessary, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning.
• Verifies and updates status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift.
• Randomly selects assigned rooms to ensure cleanliness and inspects them to verify brand standards are being met.
• Coaches, counsels, and provides corrective action to housekeeping associates on performance not meeting expectations and discrepancies found in rooms.
• Notifies GM and/or Chief Engineer of maintenance repairs necessary in rooms or on property.
• Interviews, hires, develops, and disciplines direct employees.
• Performs property walk and reports identified deficiencies.
• Participates in scheduling employees to business demands and tracking employee time and attendance.
• Supervises staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
• Manages housekeeping inventory, ensuring that the team has dedicated tools, supplies, and resources to complete assigned tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma/GED (post‑high school education preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years in housekeeping leadership experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic math skills.
• Experience with HMS and/or a property management system (PMS).
• Microsoft Office experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members.
• Excellent time management skills.

Pay

Compensation range: $23‑$25 per hour.
