About the role
The Area Director of Sales and Marketing (ADOSM) oversees the Sales and Marketing operations of the Grand Hyatt San Antonio River Walk and the Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk. This role includes responsibility for the Sales and Marketing Budget/P&L, revenue forecasting, advertising, marketing, developing and writing business plans, and ownership meetings.
Responsibilities
- Direct oversight of the Sales and Marketing operation of two hotels.
- Supervision of sales managers, trainees, interns, and administrative staff.
- Recruitment and hiring of sales staff.
- Training, managing, and coaching sales managers to meet company goals and maximize hotel revenues.
- Proficient in managing the group and transient contractual agreement process, quoting rates, sending referrals, setting traces, and the management of retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts.
- Reports directly to the General Manager at each hotel location and the Regional Vice President of Sales.
Requirements
- 6 years or more of progressive hotel Sales experience, including 3 years in a Director level position in hotel Sales.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Demonstrated history of success in results-driven, energetic, and focused roles.
- Strong organization and analytical skills.
- Service-oriented style with professional presentation skills.
- Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset.
- Must possess high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, proven track record in high volume concepts, effective communication, exceptional customer service, and ability to improve the bottom line.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Intermediate or expert skill level in the use of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite of products, and hotel-based computer programs and reports like Envision, Pro, PAW, STR, and CVENT.
Qualifications
Must be proficient in general computer knowledge and able to train and monitor both the group and transient contractual agreement process, quoting rates, sending referrals, setting traces, and the management of retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts.
